Course Description

A playful, hands-on program where children learn empathy, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving through the full Design Thinking cycle. Across our sessions, children interview users, define a problem, generate ideas, build a prototype, and test it. During this program, they practice empathy, creativity, teamwork, and confident sharing while having fun. Learning outcomes and benefits: - Empathy and listening: Learn to ask questions, notice feelings, and understand others’ needs. - Creative confidence: They practice brainstorming many ideas and feel safe to “try, learn,” - Collaboration and communication: Establish clear roles, foster teamwork, and develop speaking skills. - Problem-solving mindset: Turn challenges into “How might we?”, and choose solutions. - Iteration and resilience: Test with others, gather feedback, and make improvements. Day 1: Empathise: Understanding Others - What is Design Thinking? (friendly overview) - Interview basics: asking curious questions - Feelings and Needs mapping Day 2: Define: Choosing a Problem - Turning insights into “How Might We…?” questions - Prioritising what matters - Writing a clear problem statement ( Problem Poster) Day 3: Ideate: Generate and Select Ideas - Brainstorming rules: defer judgment, build on ideas - Sketching concepts (no art skills needed) - Choosing ideas with an impact/ease grid Day 4: Create: Testing and Improving - Prototyping, Build the Idea - Testing: observing and asking good questions - Iteration: learning from feedback - Presenting. Format: - Schedule: 4 sessions x 2.5 hours (total 7-8 hours) - Group size: 8 to 10 (teams of 4–5) - Ages: Workshops for 6-12 Upcoming Schedules:​ - December: 6th, 13th, 20th (On-site) - 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM On-Site Location: S510, Block A, PMQ, 35 Aberdeen Street, Hong Kong *The course will be held in English *A Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the course
