Dotting with Enamel (Diǎn Lán) and Fired Blue Enamel (Shāo Lán) are traditional Chinese techniques used in decorative arts, particularly in metalworking and enameling. These methods were developed to create intricate, colorful, and durable designs on metal objects, showcasing the sophistication and artistry of ancient Chinese craftsmanship. About The Workshop: Experience the art of cloisonné in a simplified, accessible format. Participants will fill pre-made metal compartments with vibrant enamel powders, using an easier technique that captures the essence of this ancient Chinese craft. (No firing or high temperatures required with colored sand ). Workshop Highlights: - Discover the history and essence of this ancient Chinese art form - Fill pre-made metal compartments with vibrant colored sand powders - Explore simplified techniques for creating beautiful cloisonné designs Class Size: Maximum of six participants per class.
